Judicial Watch ^ | 21 August 2018

Citing a shortage of affordable housing in "higher opportunity neighborhoods," the Trump administration is strong arming private landlords nationwide into renting to low-income tenants that get government vouchers....Even after the Trump administration took over, HUD has continued funding many of Barack Obama’s wasteful, socialist programs.

Disappointed if Trump’s presidency started this....or allowed it to continue.

You can bet the Democrats want to force landlords to accept Section 8. It’s only a matter of time.

As long as every demoncrat is forced to have section 8 housing on both sides of their house(s).....then we can talk.

The cockroaches generally come with the move-in. (in the boxes)

That’s why the new tenants left the last place.

One preggers mommy cockroach and you’re off to the races.

Ah.. the New Yorker comes out.

Throughout the Southern New England wealthy areas, they make sure there are poor neighborhoods mixed in. They do this to make their busing and walks more convenient. Housekeepers, construction workers, all the necessities for the rich.

Higher opportunity neighborhoods have more valuable stuff to steal.

Agreed.

They have no interest in the upkeep of the property. Income issues aside, they’d also be the ones that fail the applications process (usually background investigation).

Concerning section 8, if the feds increased their compensation enough and made it easier to evict troublemakers, the landlords would eventually participate voluntarily. But this would require the government to stop viewing landlords as class enemies.

That’s the whole point. To discourage private citizens from becoming landlords so the government controls housing, like the Council Estates in Britain.

This is going to sound bad. If this means elite Liberals will have housing projects next door to their estates I’m all in.

Freedom of association?

If you had a business and the prospective customer cant guarantee to make his monthly payments, you wouldnt sell him the product.

But for housing, screw the landlords.

Plus they absolutely do not care about keeping these places in good shape.

Go t got smart, they saw what poor does to govt housing and tore them down.

And then started forcing privste landlords to take in the very same people they know destroyed govt housing, and know they will do the same to the private buildings.

And then they coerce with law folks whodont want their buildings damaged to do so.

Its called fascism.

The Dallas City Council is already acting on this. Their newly proposed guidelines will require:
* landlords whose properties have a tax abatement to set aside 10% of units for “affordable housing”
* landlords MUST accept VA housing vouchers, a camel nose under the tent rule before saying you WILL accept Section 8

The Dallas City Council is soliciting public feedback now.

The schedule for these Dallas meetings are as follows:

* Thursday, August 23, 6-9pm, Nash-Davis Recreation Center, 3710 N. Hampton (West Dallas)

* Monday, August 27, 6-9pm, Harry Stone Recreation Center, 2401 Millmar ((East Dallas)

* Tuesday, August 28, 6-9pm, Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center, 8700 Greenmound (Pleasant Grove)

* Thursday, August 30, 12-2pm, City Hall, Room L1EN/Room D

That’s a really interesting article, thanks for posting. Unfortunately, reality is a flat out b****, and most of the social science and housing so-called “experts” haven’t figured that out.

I am sharply reminded of Thomas Sowell’s book The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy
https://www.amazon.com/Vision-Anointed-Self-Congratulation-Social-Policy-ebook/dp/B002TZ3D1M

The book is 20 years old and still very, very applicable. And he calls this sort of thing over and over.

Also, see my previous post on Section 8. My FIL is a smart man.

Section 8 housing is the modern block busting. I will NEVER be a landlord again EVER. There is not enough money for the headaches and restoration. High end maybe but not even middle class from my experience and damn sure not section 8.

BYW, I’ve burned one house I didn’t need partly because I got tired of being asked to rent it.

If poor people did not act like absolute trash, normal people would not be opposed to them.

Same goes for other demographics.

It’s not rocket surgery.

I don’t want poor people living near me because they have poor ways.
