The first thing Trump would have to do is issue an executive order that completely reorganizes the DOJ. Get rid of this nonsense where you could ever end up with recusals or terminations that automatically cede authority from the U.S. Attorney General to a deputy. This is how Sally Yates of all people ended up serving briefly in the acting AG role in the Trump administration. Rosenstein shouldn't even be fired. He should simply show up to work one day and find that the office of the Deputy AG doesn't even exist anymore. It was never established by Congress anyway, so it can be eliminated from existence with the stroke of a pen.
Who is the 3rd or 4th in charge at the DOJ right now? Maybe Trump already maneuvered a good guy into those positions. Who is the District Attorney for the Eastern District in neighboring Virginia? The guy who replaced Dana Boente? He could be the temp who runs the DOJ for awhile.
I don't care who is in charge as long as they do the job right, and not zealously and improperly prosecute Repubs because they don't like their politics. I don't think it is rocket physics. :)

If the dems manage to steal either house in the midterms, Trump needs to go nuclear with Executive orders.
The dems will fight desperately to nullify Trumps Constitutional Right to use this useful tool.
Just look how Obama used it when the GOP held both houses.
