I don’t know but doubt it. There are pockets of snow and ice in the mountains but not much this time of year. Give it another month, though.

My daughter and s-i-l moved to LA two years ago from Texas. She really, really misses the rain. After her first earthquake she decided she’d rather have a Cat 3-4 hurricane any day.

I was in Richmond, VA when the DC quake hit — it felt pretty strong — a shudder followed by shakng.

Everyone in the room was asking me “What do we do? What do we do?”

“Get under the damn desk!” I said from under the desk.

Those drop ceilings are dangerous.

I am in Dallas now — moved here from So Cal 6 years ago.

Excuse me, what is this “rain” of which you speak?

Dutchsinse predicts earthquakes according to the movement of force along plate boundaries.

The Parachute quake hits at a little after 6:30 into this report. He talks about it later, too - at about 13:00 or so and says that it looks like the Colorado quake is really closer to a 5.

Also, the strongest deep earthquake ever recorded just happened below South America. This is discussed in this video, too.

The Dillon Dam is about 80 miles west of Denver near Frisco. Quite a ways from this quake. It’s a beautiful lake.

One of Dad’s Lodge buddies from Japan lured our family up to old Dillon to run a restaurant he owned. The original town and two cemeteries were in the process of being moved to higher ground. New Dillon is about 80 feet above what was old Dillon.
The restaurant was named “Antlers Cafe.”

I guess if you don’t know where Parachute is, you don’t need to worry about the earthquake.

Maybe the result of secret experiments to extract oil from the shale rock formations there. Gotta blame it on people somehow.

I was supposed to be in Durango this weekend for the San Juan Beer Fest. Bummed I’m missing it. Most of our home brew club is down there for it.

If an earthquake occurs NW of your parachute instead of below your parachute, you’re doing it wrong.
