First they need to teach the fine art of grocery bagging.
Todays “courtesy clerks” don’t have the foggiest idea of how its done.
They just chunk things in a bag and sling it in a cart.

A good first step though.

I totally agree. I put my things on the belt- all the cold stuff together. Soaps etc and they still manage to put a frozen box of something in the bag with the bathroom cleaner...… I worked in the grocery industry for 7 years, my boys also and I taught them how to bag groceries.

The “plastic’ in plastic grocery bags is gone in 35 years, buried in landfill...

By 2025, most will have to bag their own. The local Wal Mart just converted to perhaps having 3-4 ‘manned’ lanes, and a couple dozen DIY checkouts.
