Buckle up. The media will be working twice as hard to make Dems look normal.

This should allow the DNC to move event further to the left.

Isnt this undoing changes made 40 years ago to prevent another McGovern from being nominated?

Which was the intended outcome.
Many in the dnc leadership honestly believe America has gone to the left with them. They confuse volume with depth.
They believe that an amp that will go to “11” is louder than one that will go to “10.”

Yes. But Dems apparently ignore history just as they ignore other aspects of reality.

Hard to say whether it will make them more or less competitive. It paves the way for a far-left candidate to get the nomination, but that’s also where all of their energy is.
To: ameribbean expat
This tells me the insane left faction is edging out the Hillary faction. Which should mean the party is on an even faster course toward self-destruction.

That would effectively end any chance Hillary might think she would have in 2020. Some big donors have been signaling to her since election night that that (2016) was her final chance.

Correct. That will be the likely effect. And it may alienate the few Dems who are not sympathic with the radical leftist elements taking over control of their party.

They won’t need any super-delegates until the next time they decide to rig the nomination of their presidential candidate.

It's a viable model, applied in the wrong area... as happens with so many Left-wing attempts. One of the many changes that the Left made that truly hurt this nation was the 17th Amendment. The Senate was intended to protect the State bodies, and their interests and powers... and after XVII, nobody remained to protect State's right anymore. Citizens treat it like another House, and so it behaves like another House... and the defenseless States have been eaten alive by the DC monster, predictably. The 10th Amendment is now gone, for all intents and purposes.
Having State officials vote for a State position is not a bad thing... but the Presidency is not a State office, it is a Federal position... it is, in fact, 1/3 of the Government, the entire Executive Branch.

Give them some credit. They’re setting up a nomination process that will let Democrat voters do in the future what Republican voters did in 2016: nominate a presidential candidate who isn’t a paid stooge of Wall Street and foreign governments.
