Donald Trump has occupied the White House for a grand total of 580 days. Apparently the president hasnt discovered all the features and perks that come with the Oval Office. Take his tweets.
Early Friday morning the leader of the free world publicly shamed Jeff Sessions, asking his attorney general to open up the files of the Department of Justice so the public could peek at documents concerning everything from the Russia dossier to FISA applications. It would be quite the haul. It would dominate news cycles for months to come. It could happen tomorrow.
Trump has the power. As head of the executive branch, he can tell the Justice Department to jump and, in most cases, they are supposed to ask how high. The current leader of the free world prefers to pretend he doesnt have the authority, however. Ever the victim, Trump would rather tweet than give orders that might require some painful political follow-through.

It sure would be nice to be in on the plan, since we are fighting this battle online in many forums every dang day!!!
He is accused of far worse, daily. Why is this so imperative?
No relations.
Oh, he knows. Bank on it. Just wait and you will see how much power he truly has.
Regards.
Which means I have no idea what you are writing about.
Of course.
Trump and Sessions are allowing, and even encouraging, the subversive elements in DOJ and FBI to run wild and dig themselves in so deep with their misconduct. that being fired from their jobs is the least of their problems and any claims of political persecution or unfair partisanship by Trump are laughed at
You’re right you know.
Lol For sure. Nothing wrong with that.
Inoculating himself against future claims that hes directed the DOJ for partisan political reasons.

That’s right. Sessions had a purpose for this statement:
“While I am attorney general, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations,” the statement said. “I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action. However, no nation has a more talented, more dedicated group of law-enforcement investigators and prosecutors than the United States.”
Please see my post 31.
The writer cannot be ignorant of the Dems and Repubs threats to not confirm any successor to Sessions if DJT fires him, or does the writer think that’s inconsequential? Or maybe he doesn’t understand that AG’s have to be confirmed by the Senate? What a jerk!
Don't look now, but your apostrophe is hanging out.

Free Republic spell check was not my friend
Saw it before hitting post but was just too darn lazy to correct it
My bad.
FWIW, Trump has honed this kind of media tag team strategy to an art form over the last 40 or so years and he is a bit of a genius at scripting these kinds of plays to shape public opinion and advance his goals
I agree.
The Goodnight Trail was named after him, I think.
