I bought a deck of McCain playing cards at the Sept. 5, 2008 McCain-Palin rally at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights, MI. I’m hoping they’re worth more now than what I originally paid for them. As for McCain himself, I believe he was more valuable to our nation as a Senator than he was as a fighter pilot. However, no one can deny him a place of honor in U.S. military history. RIP Senator McCain.

this is the same guy who the media tarred as a “racist” in 2000 and again in 2008. Most in the media kept raising the issue of McCain’s age in 2008, and endlessly yapping about the possibility of him dying of cancer in office if he was elected. He’s their hero now since he was heavily involved in the dossier and the attempt to bring down Trump.
How in the hell was he a hero? The media’s obsession with him should clue you in. He was a selfish traitor!!
He betrayed the nation by trying to rush through that gargantuan amnesty bill before the people found out what was in it. He did not serve his country well. I’m sorry he died, but I do not find his record admirable in the least.

Whatever honor he may have once had aside, McCain was a bitter SOB. I’m sure he would be upset that any discussion of his demise has displaced any anti-Trump talk from the chattering asses.

It is a long-standing tradition that Free Republic doesn't denigrate the recently-deceased in an obituary thread... but there are certain exceptions, such as the avowed traitor Ted Kennedy. Further, this is not an obituary thread, but a response to the fawning behavior of the News Misleadia.
The outline of the person is that of a spoiled child. The temper - evolved from tantrums. Grudges, etc., all characteristics of a child used to getting his way.
I think he’s been incommunicado, and on life support, for a good while. They claimed to be stopping “cancer treatments” on Friday, and he dies on Saturday? That sounds a lot more like they just removed him from life support.
I didn’t like McCain, he crapped on Sara, and kissed Obama’s butt. Having a nickname like “songbird” doesn’t lend itself to heroism.
I agree with Trump, I do not think he was a hero, at all.
However, the left and the media will fawn over him, and slam Trump if the President doesn’t “fawn” over him. Make a show of exhibiting all the things Trump has said about him, and it will be wall-to-wall coverage for days.
BUT....this is the last “McCain” post I will make, they’re going to be too numerous to keep up with anyway.
A good summation of the man. Petty, small and thoroughly lacking in honor. A man should have honor, regardless of his politics. McCain didn’t.
