For over a year, the Chinese government has withheld lab samples of a rapidly evolving influenza virus from the United States — specimens needed to develop vaccines and treatments, according to federal health officials.
Despite persistent requests from government officials and research institutions, China has not provided samples of the dangerous virus, a type of bird flu called H7N9. In the past, such exchanges have been mostly routine under rules established by the World Health Organization.
Now, as the United States and China spar over trade, some scientists worry that the vital exchange of medical supplies and information could slow, hampering preparedness for the next biological threat.
The scenario is “unlike shortages in aluminum and soybeans,” said Dr. Michael Callahan, an infectious disease specialist at Harvard Medical School.
“Jeopardizing U.S. access to foreign pathogens and therapies to counter them undermines our nation’s ability to protect against infections which can spread globally within days.”
Experts concur that the world’s next global pandemic will likely come from a repeat offender: the flu. The H7N9 virus is one candidate.

These people are outrageous. China has been withholding that virus for years according to the article. But it is Trump’s fault that they are withholding it.

Its inventory was believed to include the full range of traditional chemical agents. It also has a wide variety of delivery systems for chemical agents to include artillery rockets, aerial bombs, sprayers, and short-range ballistic missiles. Chinese forces conducted defensive CW training and were prepared to operate in a contaminated environment. They have been working on these programs since the early 1990’s. And even though they recognized that other nations were concerned about their advancing, they have not told anyone anything about their programs. And they have actively been delivering WMD in the form of chem and bio products for over 20 years to many nations to include the middle east. Iran being the main one.

So China has been sending over the virus poisoning the people of the US and weakening our immune systems.
China may have let something they were testing into the human population, either by design or mistake. Hiding it from the CDC and World Health Organization would hide their complicity.

A 40% KIA flu rate and the refusal of China to share data on this latest H7N9 bird flu virus sounds like the beginning of a John Ringo plague novel.
Conspiracy theorists would think that there is much more than "trade imbalance" is afoot here.
The Chinese are known to have substantial bio-medical resources which could be easily adapted to bio-warfare.
Nonetheless, one should question why their reluctance to share with WHO/ CDC, given the high mortality rate.
Under that scenario General Tso’s chicken would have never been invented.
