To himself he was the man brave enough to stand against his party, his associates, even his professional friends and side with the opposition party.
And every time he did it the leftist press applauded and boosted his ego.
But when that is your normal conduct you're no longer a Maverick - you become just another cantankerous, untrustworthy fool.
Yes, that’s true.
That maverick shtick lasted about then minutes, until we realized who his true friends were.
