(Gateway Pundit) On Monday the Chicago Cubs took on the new York Mets tonight in Wrigley Field.
Only four members of the Cubs team made it out on the field during the National Anthem.
Then the Cubs crowd blocked the US Marines as they were leaving the field.

they’re cubs fans. by definition, they’re sh*thammered to the moon.
I was there once in the 21-1/2 years I lived in Chicagoland. Almost got my ass stomped for the unspeakable crime of putting ketchup on a hot dog. I stuck to Sox Park after that. Wrigley is nice, I suppose, if you enjoy your baseball games smelling like mold and urine.
Best sign ever at old Comiskey, the year the Sox were good.
“Die Yuppie Scum! Go Back to Wrigley!”
Oh - you want a color guard for your game?
Sorry - we're not available.

It is on the North side of Chicago. Why would anyone think that the Chicago Cubs would have any Conservative types in their ballpark these days? (My dad would be so sad at what his beloved State and his beloved Cubs have become)
Wisconsin fans are known for their heavy drinking but the most trouble that occurs at Brewer games is when the Cubs are in town.
I took my entire infantry battalion to Wrigley Field back in the Harry Carey era. We were treated very well, including when I turn the troops loose down at the Loop. I coordinated that one with the Police Chief and a great time was had by all.
The owners are Republicans, minus the liberal sister. I know an awful lot of conservative fans. Not to say there arent some idiots there at the park.
Then the Cubs crowd blocked the US Marines as they were leaving the field.
><
If it’s come to this, it’s another bad sign for what’s coming.
50 years ago right now, the Dims, cops and drug addled hippies were brawling and bawling.
Its a late summer Chicago thing
BTT
The majority of fans will not be Conservative. I lived in Wigleyville decades ago. Tht whole area wasnt even remotely Conservative back then.
I’m about to share a little personal knowledge of the National Anthem at Wrigley and I’m NOT excusing anyone’s behavior or disrespect. In 1998 I was 68,000+ on the season ticket waiting list and the Cubs called before the 2015 season, so I became a season ticket holder for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons.
During the National Anthem many of the visiting players are on the filed and line up. Not pictured is Joe Maddon and his staff - they are ALWAYS on the 3rd base line. Kyle Schwarber, pictured in that photo is ALWAYS out there. Only a couple other Cubs are ever out there. The players are in the clubhouse, not even in the dugout. Only on Opening Day and special commemorative days is the ENTIRE team out there. Is it out of disrespect - I cant’t answer that. Are they prepping for the game? Is it disrespectful?
I do know that the fans are VERY respectful during the Anthem. And during EVERY home game the Cubs honor someone from the military with fans all standing and cheering as they talk about the vet or current member of the military. AND the Cubs players cheer for the person also!
Having said all that, 2015, 2016 and 2017 were the most productive 3 consecutive years for the Cubs except for 1906, 1907 and 1908. This year could mark the first time the Cubs make it to the playoffs in 4 consecutive years.....GO CUBS!!!
They are Cubs fans, after all!
Those two idiots blocking the Marines happened to be Cub fans. They are NOT representative of the overwhelming majority in attendance. Virtually every single fan at every single game I attended the prior 3 years in Wrigley was respectful to the Anthem, the military, the color Guard , etc.
And there are MANY, conservative Cubs fans here in Chicago and all over!
Next time they need to bring a larger honor guard.
And fix bayonets if they run into issues.
Joe Maddon, the Cubs’ manager is a Republican, but a centrist Republican.
Chicago’s conservative areas is Mt. Greenwood.
Worth noting, as to the current Cubs owners, with the exception of Laura Ricketts, all of the Ricketts family members are Republicans.
The Wrigley family, which once owned the team, was also Republican.
President Taft’s older brother once owned the Cubs.
God, has it been that long? I remember it like it was yesterday.
