It doesn't matter. McSally took 52% of the vote. Ward would have lost, Arpiao or no Arpiao.

I think Arapaio jumped in when some supporters with some money agreed to back him (with limited funding). Their pushing him....was mostly to take Phoenix voters. If you go around the state, you won’t find that many people all pepped-up on Arapaio....just those who saw him as Sheriff. So this group got a way to subtract the Phoenix vote from the other two. You have various states who had a third individual in the primary system....just for that purpose to taking support.
