and by that I mean riding on the dashed line in the middle of the road on the INTERSTATE at 70 MPH, sure do a lot of damage.That particular maneuver is known as lane-splitting, and it is perfectly legal in California.

It’s also perfectly stupid.
I don’t know if it’s legal in NY but they need to consider that if someone decides to change lanes and doesn’t know that someone came up on them suddenly and is in their blind spot, then they are going to be wiped all over the road.

Legal in here Germany too, at speeds considerably faster than 70 mph.
When traffic stalls, motorcyclists weave in and out of traffic wherever there is an opening. Nobody here bats an eye, it’s both legal and culturally acceptable.
