So, any time there’s a mass shooting, the anti-gun Left jumps for glee: another opportunity to fundraise, attack Republicans, and make the case yet again for why we need “common sense gun control,” which really means gun bans and the repeal of the Second Amendment. They tout misinformation, push narratives with shoddy data, and partake in our favorite game: not knowing what the current gun laws are and pervasively screw up on gun lexicon. Part of it is just plain ignorance, and part of it is also refusing to accept facts that undercut the narrative. The school shootings data point is pushed hard-core among anti-gunners. It’s total trash.
First, school shootings are still rare. Our schools have never been safer. It’s not the Wild West. EvenThe Washington Post called out Everytown for saying there were 18 shootings thus far back in Februaryafter the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting:

They are actually more common than you think but they typically happen in urban minority areas.

Local talk radio here in NE Fla. was talking about this yesterday. Apparently the obama admin. was counting everything they could as gun violence wether it was or not. Here a kid had a PICTURE of himself with a gun (might not have even been a real weapon). The obama admin. counted it gun violence. Wouldn’t doubt if they counted the elementary school kid that shaped his pop tart into the shape of a pistol. Libs are CRAYYYYYZEEEEE!
Some of those “school death” stats were derived from homicides and suicides where the bodies were found on school district property. The Left specializes in disinformation.
NPR stating facts is very unusual let a lone facts about school shootings.
The way “Everytown” sees it is if anyone fires a gun on a range or wherever and they went to school some time in their life it’s a school shooting.
Liberals and MSM don’t understand facts.. just emotions and the F’ them up as well.
I’ll admit, having a teenage daughter, even I was “worried” about the numbers of school shootings being reported. I suppose part of that was having TWO well known multiple fatality such incidents in this (low population, conservative) area in 20 years. Sometimes it seems like society is falling apart...
I guess we have to give NPR credit here! It is good to know that lightning is more of a danger than another shooting. Plus, the school my daughter goes to had taken some good precautions.
