People Are Boycotting In-N-Out Burger After Learning Of The Chain's GOP Donation

A public filing shows In-N-Out Burger, California's famous burger chain, donated $25,000 to the Republican party this past week. After journalist Gabe Schneider broke the news, some people immediately called for a boycott of the restaurants.

The Hill reports California Democratic Party chairman Eric Bauman was one of the first to voice his opinion. "Et tu In-N-Out?" he tweeted on Thursday. "Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party... it’s time to #BoycottInNOut - let Trump and his cronies support these creeps... perhaps animal style!"

According to Fortune, this isn't the first time In-N-Out has supported the GOP. They reportedly donated $30,000 to the chain last year, but they also gave $50,000 this calendar year to Californians for Jobs and a Strong Economy, an organization that's supported Democratic candidates in the past.

Plenty support Bauman's call for a boycott:

Bullschit... cough...

Let me know when the lines slack. Every millennial wants to post a snapchat pick of themselves in the line at In&Out.

Haha ... like it worked so well with Chick-Fil-A. At least it means that the lines will be shorter :-)

You can’t donate that much money to a political party.

It’s so funny, that the liberal boycott of Chick Fil A resulted in greater sales for Chick Fil A.

Same thing could happen here.

Having heard all the raves about them I made a point of visiting one when my wife and I were out west last year, and was duly impressed. Simple menu, fast service, good prices, clean premises, cheerful employees, and "Mmm, this is a tasty burger!". Wish someone with the means (that leaves me out) in our area would be smart enough to become a franchisee. They would do very well, just on the brand reputation alone.

LOL, that won’t last very long. Guarantee you next time I drive by one, the drive thru line will be out the parking lot and down the street as usual.

This is funny. I was on a liberal board earlier today and one of the LIBERAL posters said this isn’t news. He said everybody knows that they are conservative and support conservatives.

This is an attempt to make it a big deal. But it will almost certainly backfire, even in CA.

Your state should encourage them to move out of Caliph-ornia.

Ah, In-N-Out. One of the only things that I truly miss from my once-and-former state of Calizuela.

For a time, I was eating lunch at In-N-Out several times a week (they even got me a Christmas Card one year.)

(No worries, Cholesterol is about 160 and triglycerides about 66, so for me, it's health food.)

Two words...

Double Double!

When In n Out starts making burgers out of organic bean sprouts, then this boycott will hurt them.

Funny how the two best fast-food chains (in my opinion) In-N-Out and Chick-fil-a, are conservative.

I’d be glad to help take up the slack if there was one within even 50 miles of me. Sadly, the nearest is about 500 miles away.

But I did tell my friend in San Diego to go eat one for me.

So, there will be 11 cars in the drive thru instead of 12?

Good. More burgers for normal people and fewer infestations of lice and “crabs.”

I know I have problems with reading but this doesn't sound right; They reportedly donated $30,000 to the chain last year, but they also gave $50,000 this calendar year
