A Virginia state Democrat on Thursday accused his party of gerrymandering in response to gerrymandering during a special special session of the Virginia state legislature.
Its a self-serving political power grab, state Del. Steve Heretick said, according to The Washington Post. Its gerrymandering in response to gerrymandering. Its tit for tat.
Virginia Democrats proposed a redistricting map on Wednesday that Republicans, as well as Heretick, have criticized.
Thursday marked the start of the special session that Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) called last week to redraw districts at the request of a federal court. The Post reported that lawmakers on Thursday didnt come close to agreeing on how to redraw the map.

I might suspect that their creativity at using the ‘base’ of the twenty-odd counties in the north of the state and the five or six counties around Norfolk....to draw the new map...is angering some folks.
This guy whining about the change....represents Norfolk City (down along the southern coast). To be honest about the 79th district....it’s pretty firm on being blue votes. You don’t need to make any real effort. Trump only pulled in 36-percent of the local voting.
In this case, I would imagine the new 79th district would be less safe....giving over some votes to some more rural district to the west of the district.

Either it was a court ORDER, or the court was acting as an agent of the Virginia (and/or National) Democrat party.
