They'll fund Leftists until they (or the managers of their trusts!) get tired of it, or it's made clear (by those managers) that it interferes with their other business interests. Look at Rockefeller or for that matter the Rothschilds - yeah they 'dabble' in elections (usually elsewhere), and their heirs have dissipated the fortune exponentially over time, as such those heirs are almost universally wastrels and spendthrifts.
