I’m not sure that the small gains are worth tying the hands of Congress for 6 or 16 years.

New cars bought by Mexicans ~1 million/year?

New cars bought by gringos ~17 million/year

If Mexicans can produce ~50% of the value and the US/Canada ~50%, then there is a trade deficit of about 50% of the value of sixteen million cars annually.

Do we really want to lock in such trade deficits?

This should have been done ten years ago.

Bush/Obama left a huge trade mess for POTUS to clean up.

“It’s fair to wonder why so many countries just go along when the U.S. implements economic sanctions. What’s the main reason? The U.S. dollar is the dominant global currency, and the U.S. controls the financial network through which dollars flow. If organizations want to do business via this network, they’ll have to follow the rules.”

Cohen and Manafort were breaking US tax laws for years.

If there are sanctions on Iran, neighboring countries probably see an uptick in EU exports.

Our motor vehicle trade deficit (~$70 billion/year) with Mexico will be reduced by about how many billion?

Mexico will be buying how many billion/year more US made drugs?

Is it the case that lipstick is being generously applied to the Clinton NAFTA pig?
