WOW...this is an October surprise in September ! Gamechanger ....juxtaposes nicely with cancellation of fed employees raises....

juxtaposed nicely with plans to decentralize Interior Dept. out of DC.

There will be no question that DjT was the most consequential President in modern history and perhaps all US history. And I'd say the best.

"States have property taxes, most states have death taxes
( the Fed does as well ), and only the Fed has Capital Gains taxes."

I'm well aware of who charges property taxes and capital gains
taxes since I have to pay both. I simply mentioned they
have to end, not that the President has the power
to end property taxes. Don't read meanings into statements or imply that someone you don't know is ignorant. Control yourself.

The same for all of the rest you responded to my comment.

Most people who retire with no money aren’t poor for any of the reasons you stated, but because they just haven’t made any attempt to save. I have relatives who have been earning six figure incomes for several decades, and have saved almost nothing for retirement.

They can keep property tax, but the only ones that should have to pay them are members of the teachers union.

In all seriousness, you can’t say the federal government has no say in property tax when they have the power to say if they are deductible or not.

When property taxes aren’t deductible the states will be forced to use something else for a cash cow.

The only way to reduce or eliminate property taxes is to get government out of education. Won’t happen. People need the subsidized babysitting so both parents can work so they can afford the property taxes. So, you see the problem.

First, the president will ask federal regulators to determine whether the current age limit for maintaining funds in tax-deferred retirement accounts should be raised from the current cutoff age of 70 and a half.

Yes! Currently, one is fined 50 percent if they don't take out required minimum distributions at age 70-1/2. Taking out the money means getting bumped up into a higher tax bracket and paying more taxes. One of the reasons for voting for Donald Trump was his promise to lower taxes, they were too high while Obama was in office. When forced to take out RMD, under Obama you paid higher taxes. Well, not only will I pay lower taxes under Trump, but Trump may push the required take-out age higher. More winning! (At least until a democrat takes the White House in the future, but for now things are getting better.)

Take the income tax off of Social Security retirement would help a lot.

Posted Friday night at 9:08 p.m..........

Argumentative posts such as yours are usually done during either happy hour in the bar or at home alone after a six pack...........Just an observation.

Making it easier for Federal employees to retire gives Trump more opportunities to drain the swamp...

I would offer a third option: truth. Ignorant bitching isn’t a good thing and should be called out but then again people would then call me out a bunch.

Disclaimer: I’m watching SEC football and have had a six pack on my own but that’s a Saturday.

Disgusting.
