I am part of a German shepherd rescue and you would be surprised how many purebred German shepherds are abandoned in forests, mountainsides, and deserts. A family that cared about the dog would have him either micro chipped or tattooed.

Thanks for your input and service at the shelter. Any thoughts on why that is about shepherds? Are they difficult to care for. They seem like such incredible dogs.
Know that for a fact; have a great big beautiful girl GSD as part of my pack right now because there was no chip, no notification about lost, no posters, NO NOTHING.
She was just a puppy, she now has her chip, all vaccinations, every 2 month health appointments, and a loving pack.
I will always be her Daddy and she loves me.
