Susan Glasser of the New Yorker calls John McCains funeral the biggest resistance meeting yet. I think Glasser is right, but is this a good thing?
Glasser certainly thinks so. She seems ecstatic about it.
McCain probably would have thought so too. He was a world class grudge holder. McCain was also capable of forgiveness, but that capacity ran in only one direction left.
Its rich, though, that Meghan McCain, Barack Obama and others attempted to wax eloquent about the good old days of bipartisanship, civility, and respect, as exemplified by John McCain, while trying to stick it to the President of the United States during a funeral.
In not a fan of Donald Trump the man, but Ill say this for him: When he sticks the knife in, he doesnt pretend to be the guardian of civility and related virtues.
Obamas speech was a particularly pedestrian affair. The only surprise and maybe it shouldnt have been was his poor grammar. One would hope that the smartest man in any room and the possessor of degrees from Columbia and Harvard could avoid saying this: After all, what better way to get a last laugh than to make George and I say nice things about him to a national audience??
Meghan McCains big line was: The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again, because America was always great. It brought applause from the mourner-resisters a rarity, if not a first, at a funeral at the National Cathedral, according to Glasser.

Ding Dong the Grinch is dead, which old Grinch, the wicked Grinch!
I hope McCain drowned in his own body fluids.

Just a few years back McCain was a racist Nazi fascist now he is their idol. Trump rose above all of them and did the right thing even though he and Palin were snubbed. Shows you the quality of this man, I’m proud he is my president!
McCain was a traitor involved in the Democrat Coup against the Presidency.
And that’s the fact, Jack.
I would be in favor of a Presidential proclamation to put a stake through the bastard’s heart, just to make sure he never comes back again.
Oh, wait. It’s McCain. Scratch that “heart” thing. You’d never find it.
The Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama intends to milk this for all he can.
Now that he is gone I hope it is revealed that he was behind the dossier and facilitated it’s advances through the corrupt FBI.
Time for all the rats to be revealed. Put the hammer down, Mr. President.
Resistance implies organization, will and effort.
These ‘leaders’ are simply throwing a sustained tantrum.
It was kind of the “conservative” version of the Wellstone Memorial and will have about the same effect.
He could have come clean; trying to destroy the Presidency, aiding and abetting the Democrat Coup against the Presidency.
I’m not surprised he didn’t come clean on that one. It would have revealed the whole nest of vipers.
So, he protected the Democrat Coup all the way to the grave.
And look at all his fellow democrats who now speak highly of him. Look who he chose to give the eulogies, the two people who kicked his ass in the elections. He was loyal to them right up to the end.
He has a heart for your wallet.. and every taxpaying citizen.. look there.
Obama is in a delicious catch-22.
The verbose, self-regarding 44th president has given precious few interviews since leaving office and those under strictly controlled Hillary-style conditions. He’s even demanded speeches be off the record.
30,000 reporters employed in DC can’t seem to track him down despite the fact that they are effectively next door neighbors. No press gaggles, no photographers, nobody with a mic or a notebook to meet him at his destination.
The reason is obvious: Obama can’t speak on the record without lying about his involvement in and knowledge of Spygate and if he does lie on the record he knows it will be held against him.
David Frost interviewed Nixon, of all people, at length 2 years after Watergate. Obama has yet to be grilled on the most obvious case of presidential misconduct in history.
Naturally, every Washington swamp creature (all were invited) are patting themselves on the back this morning. "We really gave it to Trump yesterday, didn't we?"
They don't get it. They aren't getting it. They will.
I can’t tell you how sick I am of all of these people.
I’m tired of their constant lies and their constant destruction of the country.
The faux tears if Meghan were ridiculous. For years her father had terminal cancer. In the last year alone there were two or three this is it moments.
He needs to be deep, deep, deep in SuperMax. Gitmo, if there’s solitary.
Great line: When (Trump) sticks the knife in, he doesn’t pretend to be the guardian of virtue and related civility.
“... make George and I say nice things”
Oh, brother. It’s bad, but at least he didn’t say, “me and George”, which is what Michelle would’ve done.
