I should have highlighted this from the NWS statement:

A tropical storm watch could be issued for portions of the northern Gulf Coast tonight.

It’s probably just my imagination, but the nice people on the weather channel seem almost disappointed that hurricanes aren’t tearing up the Gulf Coast this year.

Wow. 2 Sept and no named hurricanes yet in the entire Gulf?

But, but, but ... Al Gore claims “Global warming will make hurricanes nastier and more frequent!” (July’s Current global average temperatures were 0.31 above the mid-70’s low spot, only 0.21 in June above June’s average.

Our local weatherman says lots of wind shear plus water temp in Atlantic are several degrees cooler this year. Plus the sahara desert dust in the gulf of Mexico. All these factors are keeping the waves from developing into anything major.

We are supposed to go on a Western Caribbean cruise out of Miami next Sunday. Hoping to fly into Miami on Saturday.

A few days ago our local Gannett newsrag had a feature article entitled “Where are the hurricanes?”.

They desperately want another Sandy with enough devastation to justify their AGW bull$hit.

There is a weather system around Lake Charles that looks a lot like a tropical storm, but too weak to qualify, and probably won’t strengthen since already half onshore.
