The crazy thing is their timing on it. If I’m not mistaken, they had between 51 and 60 votes continuously from 2006 through 2014, not to mention for decades before that. So they blow up the filibuster in 2013? Smart.

well, again - them being who they are and all - they figured they had another couple years of “The One” in office, then “herself” was a a shoe-in to win, because, after all, it was HER turn, and they thought they had the system rigged well enough so that Jebbie boy would be Herself’s opponent.
They didn’t count an American stepping up to the plate, someone who couldn’t be bought, bribed, blackmailed, extorted, or otherwise threatened.
So yeah... they WERE and ARE that stupid.
They bit themselves in their own asses.
