With Kavanaugh on track for confirmation, Democrats regret triggering 'nuclear option'
The Washington Times ^ | September 2, 2018 | Stephen Dinan and Valerie Richardson

With attempts to attack Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s record failing, Democrats over the weekend mounted a last-ditch bid to derail his confirmation to the Supreme Court by claiming that the vetting process is so bad that it demands a do-over.
.
.
.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota Democrat, expressed remorse that her party eviscerated the power of the filibuster five years ago, leaving them no path to stop Judge Kavanaugh, barring Republican defections.

Ms. Klobuchar, who voted with fellow Democrats in 2013 to trigger the “nuclear option” and curtail the filibuster, said she would support reverting to the 60-vote rule should her party regain the Senate.

A quibble: “President Obama wasn’t able to get his nominees” because the Republicans had begun to use the same parliamentary tricks the Dems had first used to torpedo Alberto Gonzales’s confirmation. Let’s not forget that any so-called “decline in decorum” or “gamesmanship” or “destruction of longstanding tradition” always starts with the Dems. Klobuchar doesn’t get to blame the Republicans for reacting to Democrat perfidy.

Democrats have much to regret. They’re probably too crass and too stupid to realize it.

No she wouldn't, until the last day before they relinquished control again. Thanks kevcol.

I see a deal in the works.
I will trade you a reinstatement of the 60 vote floor, for a deal to:

Fire all Federal Judges, including Supreme Court, and accepting ALL of President Trumps nominees to re-fill all Federal Judge bench’s in every jurisdiction.

The turtle needs to go balls to the wall and invoke the 50 vote rule on all senate business...screw the filibuster.

I guarantee you that if/when the demonRATs regain control in the senate, they will do it.

They even aren’t that dumb....

You do realize after midterms we might have 67 votes

Dems can go play in their sandbox. We can completely ignore them...
