WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday launched a fresh attack on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, accusing him of jeopardizing the chances of re-election for two Republican congressmen by bringing criminal charges against them just before the midterm elections.
Trump wrote on Twitter the Justice Department’s decision to file charges will hurt safe Republican seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Election analysts believe there is a 50 percent chance the Democratic Party will take control of the House, in which all 435 seats are up for grabs in the Nov. 6 elections. Republicans currently hold a 236-193 advantage and there are six vacant seats.
“Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department,” the Republican president wrote. “Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff....”

I found these tweets odd. Corruption is corruption. As Trump is not defending Duncan and Collins, why tweet? What we need to see are more corruption investigations, INCLUDING Democrats. The DOJ/FBI need to shed their bias.
He’s saying, and he’s 100% correct, that there’s NO WAY a democrat AG would bring charges against, say, a Jesse Jackson, Jr., right before a major midterm election. And he’s right. They waited until there was a safe time to indict Jesse, Jr., and replace him with a just-as-corrupt dem.
Duncan Hunter will likely win reelection anyway. Have you seen who he’s running against?
If the dems take the house they will launch a hundred investigations the next day and it will then be impossible to fire Sessions without being accused of obstruction of justice. Fire Sessions now while it's clear they have zero evidence of a crime and thus can't legitimately claim the firing is obstructing justice. If the dems take the house that will NOT be possible.
It’s already not possible... thanks to scumbag Sessions going off the reservation and recusing himself in Rosenstein’s favor without telling the White House.
It’s obvious now that Sessions is part of the “insurance policy.”
What’s so hard to figure out? If they would have been charged months ago they could have been replaced on the ballot. If they won reelection and got charged GOP replacements could be appointed to replace them. Charging them now is the worst timing possible and risk handing the seats over to Democrats even if they are innocent.
I don’t think either case couldn’t have waited until after the election. I keep reading in the MSM that the DoJ takes pains not to influence elections. I usually read that while the DoJ is in the process of influencing elections. Remember prosecution fo Sen Ted Stevens? Cost him his seat and it turns out he wasn’t guilty. If it happened to both sides, I wouldn’t care much but the DoJ prosecutions seem to be one sided. As far as I can tell Sessions is not doing anything about it. He is actually worse than worthless as AG.

These charges could have been brought at any time. It is corruption to time them to influence an election.

I have no tolerance for corruption, for lies, for holier-than-thou politicians. This is not a party issue and on a certain level, I'd rather see them immediately charged, convicted, removed from office, and jailed, than let them slide, even if it means majority party changed.
I wonder how many other politicians have investigations underway? Feinstein for sure, the Florida governor candidate, and more. Today, despite or because of Sessions we see more Democrats publicly getting cover. Is this really the case behind the curtains?
Sessions is everything that is wrong about both parties.
I’m thinking the person who was charged with the FARA violation related to inauguration (not Trump Campaign) is the tip of something. Mueller is methodically doing to people around the President what was 1000 fold evident with the Clinton/Obama cartel. I’m more then likely wrong once again, but these are odd tweets and the Collins charges were not related to Obama. Either way it’s a bizarre situation when the people you pick are systematically hunting your own people.
