One US service member was killed and another was wounded in what the military described as "an apparent insider attack" in eastern Afghanistan on Monday.
Additional details around Monday's deadly attack were not immediately released. In early July, Army Cpl. Joseph Maciel of South Gate, California, was killed in southern Afghanistan in an apparent insider attack. Two additional US service members were injured in that attack.
Prior to that, the last insider attack occurred in August 2017, in which a Romanian NATO soldier was injured.

Why are we still there? A major campaign promise by President Trump was to stop the idiotic war mongering. He said he wouldn’t announce a date ahead of time but he would leave. He got stalled “awhile” by the War Machine. Has he been co-opted?
If the Afghans want to live in the 7th century, then that’s their choice.
If they don’t want to be ruled by the Taliban, then let them fight en masse to prevent it.

Even with the first invasion I was saying it would make more sense keeping the crazies in Afghanistan than trying to change them. World History is cluttered with civilizations which failed because they tried to change the world and the world changed them.
