That was later. Earlier, he was over there interviewing generals to find out what they needed and thus the “surge” that won the war, if only we had stayed longer.

The ratio is about 10 to 1, civilians to terrorists.

You are right. It has all the signs of starting the next big war. Russia has a huge armada of warships sitting in the Mediterranean in backup for this action. And Russia has threatened to use tactical nukes in Syria.

By the way, the UN has warned them too, not that the UN has any muscle.

I bet the B 52s will roll out of Diego Garcia.

The Iranians will be glad to GTFO of the area after that.

But I think Trump is correct to draw the line at chemical weapons. He retaliated the last time they were used.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes . but that was only a mere fart in their general direction.

The next response from PDJT will be an escalation, and they won’t be coming back from it.

I am not aware of a US peace treaty with Syria.

I can understand not wanting to abet a massacre-there are women and children in that province in addition to the dozens of jihadist groups sheltering there after being expelled from the rest of Syria.

But the saber-rattling of this statement-and the fact that it looks like Trump is being led by neocon lunatics like Nikki Haley-is very disturbing to me.

We don't have any sort of military treaty, or defense pact, with Syria.

The idea that we're responsible for defending people attacked by Russia or its Middle Eastern proxies is absurd, IMO.

The CWC doesn’t require armed response. Though it’s processes could eventually lead to one for sanction enforcement.
Any UN response would be blocked by China and Russia.
But nothing is straightforward in the ME...

Most likely IMO Turkey, a NATO country, will claim a chemical attack and it will be in our best interest to make a perfunctional military response to nip Turkey’s claims in the bud.
So Erd can’t develop it for anti-Kurd, anti-US, anti-West uses.
(Afrin will be revisited, causing increased Turkey/Kurd hostitlities).

I thought next week. If the Sarin and Mustard gas come out for use by the Syrians and their ISIS allies, watch Diego Garcia IMHO.

The Donald is on clean up.

This ratio is wrong. Sorry. My arithmetic is slipping.

It’s about 100 to 1, according to some reports.

I hate that term “neocon.”

But it’s even more ridiculous that Trump should be led around by Nikki Haley, interventionist or pacifist.

All those terms serve to prevent the situation from being judged on its merits or downside.
