I think it reasonable to suspect that he was there with the connivance of some 'Rat senator.
It would still seem to me that you wouldn’t be allowed to approach the center of the storm! I just hope no one smuggles in a firearm given our terrible security.
_______________
Feinstein .......... it's in the article if you read it.
In theory, visitors/guests in the Senate or House gallery were sent through a security screening before entering (In the old days I had an official govt press-pass so I could sit in the press area but I still had to get a press pass or regular pass for the Gallery seats).
Assuming visitors were screened, there could still be a close-up threat to a person even if it were only by an attacker with a sharp pencil or pen.
Talking about visitors, those who disrupted the Kavanaugh hearings should have their names and possibly photo/addresses on record with the Capitol Police who provide much of the security for Congress.
At least the FBI and Capitol Police would know who the paid troublemakers and psychos are.
Interested citizens, in theory, can find out by going to the DC police station where they were booked and find out who they were (lots of good information there and it should be open to the press - don’t know about the general public).
I would like to see a list of these agitators and I suspect so would a good part of America. Also would like to know who the payers were and their paymasters behind the scenes.
That is where so good investigative journalism would come in.
