the rumor mill, which I’m sure is started within the newsroom of the NYT is that it’s Pence.
These people are just trying to rattle our cages.
I can see the points of many here, but what I never understood is why Obama and the democrat presidents would do this.

I do think the NYT is fully capable of creating a fictitious character that “reports” complete rumor and misinformation purely out of spite of the President and their own aggrandizement. So it may be so much shadow-chasing to sell Woodward’s penny-dreadful.
For Dems, power is the ultimate possession. And you just have to more than the other guy. What are riches if others can use their power to compel you to “give back” your riches for their benefit?

Take a look at how the society “works” in the Hunger Games movies. THAT is what they are ultimately aiming for.
You have the wealthy rulers living in luxury and with TOTAL control while most of the citizenry are basically slaves doing all the work to sustain the rich. They have NO power.
This is what they want. And like those movies, the media get to enjoy the good life as well, provided that they are good to those in power.
