Trump’s Tight Labor Market Wins U.S. Construction Workers Higher Wages...

American construction workers are seeing their wages rise in the blue collar industry as President Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” tightened labor market forces business to find and employ disenfranchised U.S. workers, rather than importing foreign workers.

Trump’s tightened labor market has shifted the burden of the economy away from American workers — who are forced to compete for U.S. jobs in many states against cheaper, illegal aliens — and towards business that now must look for and employ Americans they would have previously passed on to hire foreign workers instead.

Most recently, the tight labor market helped reintegrate retirees back into the workforce. Breitbart News has also reported extensively on how the tight labor market in Trump’s “hire American” economy has brought new job opportunities for Americans with disabilities and helped lower the demographic group’s unemployment rate.

The tight labor market has also secured higher wages for overtime workers and high-paying, coveted white-collar jobs for American teenagers. Most recently, Breitbart News reported that the construction industry has had to recruit women to take jobs at higher wages rather than hiring illegal aliens. A Chick-Fil-A in California has even raised wages to $18 an hour to retain workers.

“Disenfranchised”? I thought they voted for Trump, so it seems like they do indeed have the franchise.

I want to congratulate and thank our President, others in his Administration and the congressional and other Republicans who support him for that. We do see it, and we are thankful! They won’t see our gratefulness from the big media companies, so there it is.

Don’t worry about the skewed surveys. You’ll have our votes.

Home builders are the next segment that need some enforcement attention.
They have been relying on illegal aliens for years.

excellent. common sense economics, border enforcement, and tariffs working like a charm. apparently the best labor market since we opened our borders to foreign goods and illegal labor 60 years ago.

It’s just going to keep getting better.....I am grateful every day......to God for putting the right man in office that could take the heat and not put up with the nonsense. And knows how to delegate without standing over peoples shoulders to get the job done. And unafraid to boot those who won’t!

I’ll take how ‘raw’ he can be any day....also his changing because stuff gets pulled out from under him daily...yet he keeps on keeping on. “Next” is his game and he leaves them in the dust as he goes!

That’ll happen when the people have accumulated enough to purchase homes again.....then they’ll start buying and building to accommodate the tide.

It’s amazing where folks have risen thus far....and finally planning for their futures again. Wonderful to see it happen!

I’m a construction business owner. It’s a small business but so far so good. I recently was in the Naples and San Marco Island area for business. On a Monday there were 50 tile roofs going on, many other major projects as well. The same drive on Tuesday and every job I saw going the day before was deserted. At a lunch meeting another business (not small) owner was complaining immigration showed up in the area and all the crews disappeared. I tried not to laugh but it made its way out. The guy asked what was so funny and I said “I just got a raise. “

A good friend of mine owns a roofing business. In the nineties he would put magnetic ins decals on a crown vic and spook his competitors crews. It was something else to see and it worked. The last Bush years and all of Obama’s it didn’t. Maybe that is a good idea again. I’m not a roofer but tile roofs in Florida during the winter paying real labor value sounds pretty good to this Hoosier.

My brother owns a underground utility construction company, he is starting finally to turn things around. During the 0bama years, he reduced his company size from 65 employees to 10, he barely stayed in business.
