The NFL is a microcosm of society. It has it’s good guys and it’s bad guys just like society at large does. In both cases the bad guys are in the minority. We had a saying in the Marine Corps, “You always have that 10%”. Meaning the 10% who are worthless, criminals and idiots will always be there.
Notice the long list of probations and dropped charges. Can you say pay off? How many others never made it to court?
There are a few exceptions to the rule. Roger Staubach has lived not far (TX mileage) from us for decades. Never a peep out of him even back in the day.
