Does anyone remember when the dignity of the office was respected by ex-Presidents acting non-politically?

Now, Clinton, Bush, and Obama... 24 years of ex-presidents, a generation... have become overtly leftist, statist, and anti-Trump in their public pronouncements.

GWB is an especially sad case, having stoically endured vituperation as President, and served as Obama’s scapegoat for another eight years. Is he, uh, slow or something? Or just playing the straight man?

“Is he, uh, slow or something? Or just playing the straight man?”

Trump’s courage and deep patriotism, along with the fact that it is resonating with the American heartland, makes ex-presidents look weak and unAmerican by contrast.

To the extent Trump is winning, these ex-presidents are being revealed as losers.

Democrat ex-presidents are being forced to face the fact that their redistributive socialism, justified by fomenting class divisions, has been an utter failure and dishonest and anti-democratic to boot.

Republican ex-presidents are being revealed as weak and foolish capitulators.

Out of all the presidents of the last half century, only Ronald Reagan, if he were alive, could see Trump’s successes as vindicating of his policies. Peace through strength, government accountability to the people, and a penchant for brutal honesty made Reagan the only ex president Trump is not putting to shame.
