Trump Adviser Suggests Cruz Isn't Likable Enough to Be Re-elected
WRAL ^ | October 8, 2016 | By Alexander Burns and Kenneth P. Vogel, New York Times

President Donald Trump’s budget chief, Mick Mulvaney, expressed confidence to Republican donors Saturday that the party would overcome a Democratic “movement of hate” in November, but he acknowledged Republicans could lose races where they have nominated candidates who are not seen as “likable” enough, like Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

I will never believe that Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids are natural born citizens eligible to be President.
If he is, they are.

Mulvaney is a jackass, making a statement that got into the media which undermines a solidly conservative Senate voice. I could not care less about any bitterness or hostility between Trump and Cruz - I don’t personally know either of them, nor do I care about their feelings - all I care about is the fact that both of them can enact policies which will benefit the country. Both of them need to work together and support each other. And morons like Mulvaney really need to be told to shut the hell up.
...
No need for me to say anything else...nailed it.

You mistake straight criticism for hatred.

What do you want - fake love bombs?

“Oh! This is choice. A guy from Arizona complaining about a senator from Texas.”

To be clear, this poster from Arizona was, in that quote, quoting a guy from Nevada who was attacking Cruz. I’d LOVE to have a chance to vote for Cruz in November instead of being stuck with Martha McSally. And I voted for McCain’s opponent, not only in the last couple of primaries, but the last couple of general elections as well - although I did so knowing the seat would stay GOP regardless of my vote.

He has been backing the President’s agenda. He hasn’t been bitter and vindictive like McCain was. He didn’t vote against the ACA repeal just to stick it to Trump.

Maybe so, but he's done nothing to restore the honest, heartfelt affinity that so many voters had for him, prior to the election.

The point is, he caused a lot of voters to sour on him from a personal perspective, and they're still sitting with that negative mindset because he's done nothing to try to win their hearts back.

Just voting the right way isn't enough. There's a personal connection that needs rebuilding, and Ted should have been working hard on it for the last two years.

“Just voting the right way isn’t enough.”

Many of us would LOVE to vote for someone who would “vote the right way”! I assume politicians are assholes, but I’m quite happy with an asshole who pushes the right ideas - like Trump, who isn’t my idea of someone I’d like to go hunting with, but who is doing good things as President!

I’m stuck with voting for someone who MIGHT vote the right way more often than her opponent!

It was an off the record conversation that was secretly recorded by someone’s phone. It makes news because it is not often we actually get to hear someone’s true opinion.

You forgot one...

2016

Ran for the Republican nomination for the Presidency despite knowing full well that he did not meet Article II eligibility requirements ie NBC.....Born in Canada to 1 Cuban father and 1 Us mother Ted Cruz doesn’t meet the “born in a country to parents who are it’s citizens.”

No matter what other qualifications Cruz may or may not have the about FOREVER removes Ted from my list of any position....including dog catcher....Good for him I don’t live in Texas....

Do you realized you are helping the NYTimes?

They just want to dispirit conservatives to make them want to give up so the Republicans lose the Senate, and President Trump’s judicial picks don’t get through (as well as Trump’s other conservative agendas).

Wow, if that’s not the pot calling the kettle black. Trump is not the most likeable person either. I’m a big Trump supporter because of most everything he’s done as President, but I have to admit he is one of the most brash, obnoxious, and in your face politicians I’ve ever seen.

You have to remember Donald Trump IS NOT a professional politician and is in fact the first President of the United States to NOT have held ANY previous political office or senior held military rank (politicians more or less once they put stars on their shoulder boards)! Plus you also have to remember his blue collar, Queens NYC upbringing as well. Folks growing up there don't beat around the bush when they state how they feel.

I agree with everything you said except:

President Trump is not a politician. Thank God. 😀🇺🇸

What a load of rubbish!
Yeah, Ted Cruz is so “”unlikeable” that he won a massive 551 delegates in the 2016 primaries. The oh so likable Marco Rubio managed to win only a measly 173 delegates. And this was with the best Republican field we’ve had in decades with a massive 17 candidates.
How many delegates has Mulvaney ever won?. And who give propaganda to the enemy? It’s like someone in Churchill’s cabinet telling telling the media that he doesn’t think the British can beat the Germans in WWII.
Having said that, I don’t believe anything from the New York Slimes. So until I hear from Mulvaney himself, I’ll call it false.
