I have believed from the start that this whole thing is a fraud. It's classic CIA agitprop, a tried and true tactic they've used for decades around the world to destabilize third world regimes they wished to topple. The Soviets did exactly the same as well. Just have some of their media "journalist" assets insert a couple of articles like this into the country's media narrative to incite FUD, i.e. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, and voila, "their" evil dictator is replaced by "our" evil, but controllable dictator.
Sadly, most Americans still don't realize that the CIA, FBI et al. have for decades cultivated and co-opted similar "assets" among our own media, who will do exactly the same thing as those foreign assets. Until now, they haven't gone out for actually toppling one of our own elected administrations, but whenever they've wanted to influence public opinion on an issue, or discredit a public figure they believe stands in the way of their agenda, ... pardon me, their "enlightened vision" of how the country is supposed to be run, they merely have someone insert something that causes FUD into the narrative, exactly as Anonymous has done. The careers of good people have been destroyed and their lives ruined by this tactic.
Their goal is to either have the nation's people turn against the targeted regime, or destroy the trust of the regime members in themselves and start turning on each other. Thankfully, in this instance, the tactic seems to have backfired, and most of the American people appear to have decided it's nothing more than a cheap, dishonest stunt.
Very insightful. These are the tactics our intelligence agencies use against political targets in other countries. This entire failed coup smacks of a carefully coordinated intelligence operation with cutouts and feeding multiple sources with the same information to create the desired narrative. Giuliani was correct when he said that Brennan was the quarterback of this plot. Nellie Ohr worked for the CIA as did Halper.
I watched the Papadopoulos interview this morning. It was interesting that he said that he never mentioned the Russians having Hillary's emails. His wife also mentioned that there were many "shady characters" who approached her husband. Papadopoulos is going to write a book after is released from his lengthy prison sentence of 14 days.
