“I lived in FL for 25 years and it was crazy. “

In the 60’s-70’s most homes in South FL were built with storm shutters installed. If a home didn’t have shutters people would buy plywood once and store it in their garage or sheds and keep it ready for the next time.

Not so much today.

Lived on the FL east coast for 20 years. Bought the plywood and hardware at notice of our first hurricane. Marked each piece and stored them all in the garage for the next one.

The morons who bought the Brevard home from us threw them out, even knowing what they were for. Not because they were replacing with modern shutters or other protection options, just wanted to remove the "clutter".
