Anybody SC coast on this thread should just grab a go bag and go today if they can, BECAUSE most people will go tomorrow and turn I-95 north and south into a crawling conga line of evacuees. Get out while the getting is good!
What a mess. I feel sorry for everybody in its path.
Freepers in the storm’s path, get out now, before the conga lines begin.
PING!
This is the 11th year on record that the Atlantic Ocean has had 3+ hurricanes simultaneously. Other years were 1893, 1926, 1950, 1961, 1967, 1980, 1995, 1998, 2010, and 2017.
This is the real deal. Anyone who can needs to batten down the hatches and get out of there if possible.
This is a plenty serious storm in terms of wind force, but Joe Bastardi was talking about 3-4 FEET of rain (!)
I can’t leave. I’m playing golf tomorrow. But, if I’m still here when the power returns (assuming we lose it) then I’ll let you know what it was like.
Looks like North Carolina will be getting the “dirty” side.
I live on Florida East Coast. The thing about these category 4 ‘canes is, after the wind growls, and after the it rains cats, dogs, and dirty underwear, power is out. And, as with Irma last year for me, eight days without power. You can’t just hunker down. Go inland.
Most places I’v worked for? I wouldn’t have a job when I got back. Wednesday after work might fly.
This thing could take a turn wed and hit FL/GA

as of right now the entire SC coast may be a bit much...the upper coast maybe..NC going to get it much worse
I should note the possible stalls and loops are going to make evac plans tricky and long
Satellite video of the storm and its storm track look bad. Like the hurricane is winding up for a knockout punch of SC, telegraphing its punch. Yeah, good idea to get out.

Good to get out of Dodge!
Went out today and got the last generator Tractor Supply had. They were flying off to the shelf. Stocked up on supplies. 180 miles from the coast, but these can be a beast. (Hugo)
Hope all of you SC & Georgia FReepers come through ok. Also hope our HHI timeshares survive!
Another Freeper posted this terrific weather site the other day. I’m addicted!
