CNN is reporting that top congressional Democrats are planning to take an unexpectedly soft line on new and potentially very damning information that has emerged about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Russia probe.
Why? Because Democrats understand full well that Sessions, of all people, could end up being pivotal to preventing President Trump from covering up the findings of special counsel Robert S. Mueller IIIs investigation.
Its a complicated and interesting situation and its unclear where its going to end up.
A few days ago, the news broke that in a recent court filing, former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos contradicted Sessionss previous sworn testimony about how Sessions reacted when Papadopoulos proposed the idea of Trump meeting with Vladimir Putin during the 2016 campaign....

Jeff Sessions did not wrong with Russia. That was the lie that got him to stand aside while the Deep State tried (and keeps trying) to remove our elected President. More Deep State disinfo.
Well look where it’s from. It’s been confirmed that they have a huge contract with the Central Intelligence Agency.
Wow. Talk about a disconnect from reality. The scary thing it, I think people who work at places like The Washington Post really believe, in the face of all the evidence to the contrary, that pap like this article is true.
I think they really believe it.
The MSM really does think Trump will go down so theyll continue their lies. I think more and more Rush was correct when he said some time ago the media are the ones who run the Rat Party and not the elected idiots in DC!
In this crazy mixed-up situation, who knows?
I’m still not counting out a Trump/Sessions rope-a-dope and taking the DNC down for the count.
So now the big criminal offense is “lying” about how you reacted to a perfectly legal idea at a meeting? Give me a break.
Because Democrats understand full well that Sessions, of all people, could end up being pivotal to preventing President Trump from covering up the findings of special counsel Robert S. Muellers investigation
Even if Session is a deep state plant too many Americans aren't the clueless baboons they believe we are.
Bammy's last speech exemplified the theory (i.e. belief) that we, the middle class, are morons. WRONG. (I hope...)
Sessions only had to recuse if it was a criminal investigations. This was a counter Intelligence investigation and he did not have to recuse. Then Rosenstein gets himself appointed to oversee the investigation and he appoints Mueller. When it comes to Sessions he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Democrats love him he is the new firewall against any investigation of Obama, Clinton, Rosenstein, Mueller, FBI, DOJ in 2016 to help Hillary. Trump should fire his useless ass now and appoint Noel Francisco temporary AG are just put lynch back in the job same as having Sessions as AG
The Amazon Compost is not a reliable source. Anonymous, maybe, but not reliable.
Actually I read it the same way, Sessions lied and has to be removed then the fun begins. Sessions will resign and not face charges.
More spin and BS from another of the ComPost's partisan media shills.
GO SESSIONS!! KISS THE DEEP STATE’S ASS!!
Tis entire scenario is so profoundly convoluted it is not possible to know what is real and what is not. We need to trust that Trump is an absolute genius who has matters firmly in hand. And we absolutely must vote in greater numbers than ever before to insure the obliteration of the monkey party.
The author has proven beyond all doubt that smoking pot is harmful to the brain.
It is theCompost. Move on. Nothing to see here.
Did sessions make a deal to not be investigated and he would recuse and appoint Rosenstein to oversee a SC?
