That is what Im talking about.
It’s been just over a year, since Hurricane Harvey.
I wish that our local government officials would’ve given the same directive, that our Gov Abbott did....to evacuate, ASAP.
Instead, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Harris County Judge Emmott and OEM person all said NOT to evacuate.
Biggest mistake, ever.
Homes all over the surrounding Houston area flooded. Just about every water way was out of its banks. Lives were lost, folks had to be boated out (you’ve seen the videos).
Life and loved ones are MUCH more important, than property.
Gov Abbott had it right, and Houston city officials had it completely WRONG!!
If I were in the central Appalachian Mountains, I’m leaving. Why? Because the forecast of massive rainfall over a lot of old spoil tips/tailings from coal mining could cause collapses of them, which will lead to dangerous mudflows and serious pollution problems downstream.
Where do you liveKansas?
if you want to leave your belonging to be ravaged by looters go right ahead!1 I do not wish to do that. These storms are way overblown and most are fizzlers. https://www.khou.com/article/news/investigations/looters-hit-houston-after-harvey-to-the-tune-of-nearly-1-million/285-481304126
