I would suggest that by 2020....news ends in the EU, in a very brief period of time. The US and Asia will have journalists within Europe and reporting back to their homelands, but that will be the extent of readable news.
I might even go and predict that most European newspapers are dissolved or gone within a decade after this takes effect.
1984 was just before its time. It’s coming unless we and the Europeans do something. I don’t hold out much hope for China, Canada, and all Spanish speaking countries.
EU is the Fourth Reich. Communisms biggest propaganda success in WWII was labeling faschism as right wing. It is no such thing. Faschism is national socialism in which the states does not need to own all of the resources or industry. It controls industry through brute force. Germany versus Russia was an unavoidable conflict of socialist philosophies. The soviets were so successful at this lie that today rightwing is misunderstood by the majorrity of the population to mean being something akin to radical nazism which it is definitely not. It is, however, acceptable to be left wing. This is one of the great lies being foisted on the American people.
