Even more..a variety of water filters and decontamination pills. Turn that swollen creek into a potable water source.

Places populated with a lot of urban feral people tend to fare a lot worse than those which are not.

We were in the great Kansai earthquake of 1995 (Japan) which happened just before 6 am. By 6 pm, the army had a water wagon set up at a nearby school. My daughter, then age 9, went to stand in line to collect the 2 gallon water ration for our family.

She reported back that the only disturbance was from an orderly crowd trying to urge an old woman forward so she wouldn't have to stand in line like everyone else. However, the old woman insisted on waiting her turn.

Know what the best Bug Out thing there is? A small camper trailer. You got everything in there you need..even if you cant get outta dodge you got it. As long as you have the LP Gas and gasoline to charge the battery’s you got it made.

And you dont need a generator to charge the battery’s either.

I’m here in Washington state as well. My kids weren’t laughing at me when I pulled out a 50 count box of nice dust masks with the little valve. All the stores were out of any kind of masks due to the smoke last month.

Actually - it was the ice storm we had 10(?) years ago now when they quit making fun of my emergency supplies.

Unlike that idiot Bush, we actually have a grown up in the WH now.

The storm will hit but our commander in chief will be prepared. There is not a storm that Satan can throw at this nation our righteous leader cannot prepare for

The press always hypes these storms to death. The coast always takes a beating. Board up and leave for a few days.

I had trouble finding gas to get out of Greensboro. But I was able to buy gas on Ocracoke. Go figure

They’ve been warning of this storm for nearly 2 weeks now. That’s plenty of time to make preparations if one has any common sense.

Unfortunately the public still believes someone else needs to tell them what to do...and what to think.

Take your garbage can and rinse it out.
Install large garbage bag inside garbage can.
Throw a cap full of unscented bleach in.
Tie bag closed, tie garbage can lid closed.
I never buy water........

Fresh fruit will often keep for a number of days.

Bread too.

You cook the meat (and eggs) before the storm hits.

You eat the meat and drink the milk initially.

Then eat/drink other perishables.

Only then do you open the cans and eat the contents.

As for water, you full up every pot, jar, vase, etc. with tap water before the storm hits and leave them on the counter for use after the storm hits.

As for washing, container #1 most dirty, container #2 fairly clean, container #3 very clean. Hands -> 1 ->2 -> 3.

>>People never heard of water containers one fills up with the hose on the side of your house.

But, that’s hose water! That’s the same kind of water that goes in the toilet!
