Poll: Mike Braun Leading Joe Donnelly in Indiana Senate Race
Breitbart ^ | 113 Sep 2018 | Sean Moran

Posted on 09/13/2018 6:57:24 AM PDT by mandaladon

Hoosier businessman Mike Braun leads Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN) in a poll released on Wednesday. A Fox News poll released on Wednesday found that Braun leads over Donnelly–45 to 43 percent—while Libertarian candidate Lucy Brenton has three percent support and eight percent of Indianans remain undecided. The margin of error for the survey is 3.5 percent, making the race a dead heat between Braun and the incumbent senator, especially considering that one-third of Hoosier voters are saying they could change their minds before the November midterm election.

The Fox News survey found that 54 percent of Hoosiers approve of President Donald Trump’s job performance and 37 percent of Indianans say the economy is doing better than worse.

Sen. Donnelly faces an increasingly competitive re-election campaign in a state that President Trump won by 19 points during the 2016 presidential election.

Thirty-three percent of Hoosierd say they will cast their vote to show support for the president, compared to 31 percent to oppose the president.

Women prefer Braun over Donnelly by five points, and voters over 45-years-old also prefer Braun by ten points. White women also prefer Braun by 16 points over Sen. Donnelly.

Hoosiers said that their top three issues for the Senate race are the economy at 28 percent, health care at 27 percent, and immigration at 16 percent. Voters emphasizing the economy and immigration back Braun, while those concerned about health care support Donnelly.

Chris Anderson, a Democratic pollster, said in a comment on Wednesday, “In an electorate that is likely to be nearly 90 percent white and majority female, a Democrat has almost no path to victory without at least drawing even among white women.”

This is big. Fox News polls don’t tend to favor us at all.

This is only true when the GOP candidate is uninspiring, which does not seem to be the problem with Mike Braun.

I hope so. I really don’t know much about the Indiana senate race. I sure hope we can pick up a few seats in the senate.

And “made it possible” for Claire McCaskill to win a Senate seat for 6 years! And we talk about the “Loony Left!”

We are handicapped because conservatism's best and brightest are business owners and professionals whose #1 priority in life is not gaining political office - unless it is to advance some economic interest of their own or their industry's. And those high IQ narcissistic sociopaths who actually enjoy the process are going to gravitate toward running as Democrats, since the ego rewards of handing out free stuff are so much higher.

We often end up with charisma-challenged cultural conservatives instead of quick-witted attack dogs...which is why Trump was such a breath of fresh air.

Me too...my understanding of Braun is that he's a successful businessman, and not a politician. Not as flashy as the President, but also not prone to making mistakes.

This “Blue Wave” (an Orwellian name, given that the big government socialist left has always been associated with red) is going to have trouble materializing. This is a democrat incumbent seat that may flip GOP. How are the democrats going to take the promised number of Senate seats if we keep flipping seats they hold, and we’re leading in other races? If I didn’t know better, thanks to MSNBC educating me, I’d call all the red wave claims ‘propaganda’ or even #FakeNews.

Don't try to get cute... just stick with the word Hoosiers.

” unless it is to advance some economic interest of their own or their industry’s”

That is the sad truth. This is why no conservative reform ever gets implemented unless it puts money into their pockets. Open borders proves that the Republican business class will sell the rope to their own hanging something that Democrat elites would never do. This mentality is exactly the reason why I will never again support a business tax cut or a tax cut for wealthy or corporate interests as long as the corporate media smears us and even the Republican elite supports open borders and is “working with the Democrats to get things done”. They need to respond to our concerns for once.

“We often end up with charisma-challenged cultural conservatives instead of quick-witted attack dogs...which is why Trump was such a breath of fresh air.”

YESSSS! We desperately need some Trump clones in government. Because as “nice” as Pence is, he’s no Donald Trump, and I doubt at his age, he’s amenable to learning how Trump operates. I just hope when their dad is done, that one of his sons decides to run for the Presidency.

“We often end up with charisma-challenged cultural conservatives instead of quick-witted attack dogs...”

Can you say the GOPe in the US Senate, with that feckless turd Richard Burr as the headliner. He may be worse than McScrotum Neck, if that’s possible!

“Donnelly won six years ago only because of a stupid opponent who stepped squarely into the abortion and rape exception cowpie like Todd Aiken in Missouri.”

_________________________________________________________

Another big factor in 2012 was that Richard Murdock beat Dick Lugar in the primary and MANY establishment Indiana republicans never forgave him. There were Hoosier republicans who simply refused to vote for Murdock because of that.

This year, the Indiana GOP base is unified, unlike 2012. This will be a huge factor in November.

Wow Faux News has the Republican up 3 in a state won by Trump by 19 points is the Vice Presidents home state and the Democrat voted against the tax cuts.

Just imagine what the REAL numbers are!

Democrats are pumping a sh!tload of money into this race, while Mitch doesn’t appear to be doing much to help Braun.

Donnelly is running on things he and Trump have agreed on, like the “right to try” legislation. Everyone who runs in IN has been trying to be the Trumpiest candidate, so he definitely has some long coattails here

Meanwhile, Democrat pacs are flooding the airwaves with BS ads about Brauns business practices.

Should even be close, but it may end up closer than we would like to see

The jackoffs who took and take knees during the NFL national anthems and the Mueller / Demagogic Party / media witch hunt doesn't seem to be working, at least not in the way they'd planned it.

I would never vote for Joe but he voted against our tax cuts so I think he’s already sealed.

"His decision on Kavanaugh will seal his fate."

You're right.

Donnelly: 'Yes' on Kavanaugh Donnelly: 'No' on Kavanaugh
Loses re-election Loses re-election

BTW, do you have any idea how hard it is to lose re-election to the Senate? Pretty goddamn hard.

TRUMP WON INDIANA BY 19 POINTS.

This should not have been close to begin with.

When those first returns flashed 70-30 everyone knew the Monster Vote was in play; and then it became quickly clear who had the short straw to bring the bad news to Cankles.

When it's clear on Election Night 2018, around 9:30pm, that the GOP kept the Senate and the House, there will be arrests of Democrats trying to leave the US surreptitiously, you watch and see.

Libertarians and other conservative Third Party candidates only serve to help the Democrats. PERIOD.
Perfect example: In Baltimore back in the late 60’s, Sam Friedel (D-MD) was the moderate representative in Congress (he was my congressman).

Then the Democrats nominated Prof. Parren Mitchell (Morgan State Un.) to run against him in the congressional race. Mitchell had very close ties to the Communist Party USA (and came from a famous Baltimore/area black family full of crooked politicians). Mitchell won the primary against Friedel by splitting the Jewish vote and getting nearly all of the black vote, plus some white Dems.

In the congressional election, Mitchell faced a good conservative Republicans who would have beaten him except for a Republican splinter candidate who took just enough votes away from the main GOP candidate to hand the election to Mitchell by a Per Cent or two.

Someday the true identity of Parren Mitchell will be revealed from FBI and CIA files. I’ll give you a hint in abbreviations: One or both - CPUSA/KGB.

And that bastard betrayed America for as long as he was in Congress.

No fucking Libertarian vote-splitters. Get them out of the race whenever they EGO-POP-UP like a ZIT. They are poisonous to the body politique and America.

PS: I took on Mitchell in 1965 at a conference on Vietnam and he spoke, literally word-for-word the Hanoi/VC propaganda line about “national liberations” and “self-determination of peoples”. The only thing missing that day was his Ho Chi Minh button.
