President Bill Clinton nominated Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the Supreme Court in June 1993. She was confirmed two months later by a vote of 96 to 3, and not a single senator asked her about her ten years litigating cases for the ACLU, she said in an appearance on Thursday.

“I wish I could wave a magic wand and have it go back to the way it — the way it was,” Ginsburg told a gathering at the George Washington University Law School. […]

“The way it was, was right. The way it is, is wrong,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.

Ginsburg continued: “The atmosphere in ’93 was truly bipartisan. The vote on my confirmation was 96 to 3 — even though I had spent about 10 years of my life litigating cases under the auspices of the ACLU and I was on the ACLU board as one of their general counsels. My White House handlers asked me questions about my ACLU affiliation. They were very nervous about it. And I said, ‘Forget it; just forget it. Nothing you can do would lead me to badmouth the ACLU.’” …

She IS calling the Dems out....without saying it. These votes are not supposed to be on party lines. That’s the opposite from what was intended.

I saw the video and Ginsburg does not look very healthy. Thus, extremely important for the GOP to keep the Senate in November.

She does not look good. I doubt that she will last through the rest of President Trump’s first term, let alone his second term.

No wonder the liberals are going crazy about President Trump filling Kennedy’s Supreme Court seat. They are really going crazy about the impending prospect of President Trump filling Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat.

The ACLU was created and financially supported openly by the Soviet Union for over 55 years.
The "American " in their name has always been a sham and one of the Original Enemies Domestic."

So yeah; it figures she would say that proudly.

They approved Roberts who may go down in history as a leftist

Roberts is likely the new "swing vote" that keeps Kagan, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, Breyer in the quasi-majority. But what if W had gotten his original choice, Harriet Miers who was a former democrat and is currently a lawyer representing Pakistan? Good lord, all I can wonder is how W managed to name one good person for SCOTUS in Alito. Probably he views it as a mistake and he regrets it deeply.

All Democrat nominees sail right through. Republican nominees have faced the circus since Bork.

Watch the video. Seems like she struggles to hold her head up and speech is difficult. I’ve seen elderly in better shape at the old folks home.

We all fought the Miers nomination excepting the Bushbots and Hugh Hewitt.

I see almost no one here bothered to read the article. She criticized her side just as much as ours.

What's stopping her?

“But Ruthie, it’s YOUR side of the isle doing things the wrong way. Clean your own house! “

Democrats are so rotten that even old school communists can’t take it.

Exactly.

“I am for socialism, disarmament and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is, of course, the goal.” ACLU founder Roger Baldwin, 1935

I C&P’d the above from

“Her side” is the ACLU. Notice that she would never offer any criticism of them.

Nobody has faith in the Uniparty GOP here. The warnings in the Goldwater book, The Conscience of a Conservative, should have been taken more seriously by the electorate too.

“The way it was, was right. The way it is, is wrong,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.

She was confirmed in 1993. I guess she was on vacation during the Clarance Thomas hearings and 52-48 confirmation vote of 1991.
