Rich Nations Vowed Billions for Climate Change. Poor Countries Are Waiting.

HONG KONG - When industrialized nations pledged in 2009 to mobilize $100 billion a year by 2020 to help the poorest countries deal with climate change, it won over some skeptics in the developing world who had argued that rich nations should pay up for contributing so much to the problem.

But the money has been slow to materialize, with only $3.5 billion actually committed out of $10.3 billion pledged to a prominent United Nations program called the Green Climate Fund. President Trump’s decision last year to cancel $2 billion in promised aid did not help.

“The fund of hope is becoming a fund of hopelessness,” said Meena Raman, legal adviser to the Third World Network, an advocacy group in Malaysia, and a former nonvoting member of the Green Climate Fund’s board.

“The lack of real money coming through is really undermining trust in the negotiations” around how to put the Paris accord in place, said Brandon Wu, the director of policy and campaigns at ActionAid USA, an advocacy group that monitored the Bangkok meeting. “That’s a big part of the logjam.”

The Green Climate Fund was designed to help developing countries prepare for climate disasters and develop low-fossil-fuel economies. It was part of a larger plan, led by Hillary Clinton, as secretary of state in 2009, to put together $100 billion a year for poor economies through a combination of government contributions and private investments.

Many academics see contributions to the fund by wealthy countries as a moral imperative, arguing that the developing world is most vulnerable to the effects of climate change but least responsible for causing them.

Follow the money trail. What they’re really lusting for is the billions in legalized theft (taxes) that they’ll line their coffers with....as well as their pockets.
The insane SOBs need to be locked up in an asylum in order to Make America Safe Again....MASA!

Since manufacturing in the US is so vastly more carbon-efficient than China and so on (more items manufactured per ton of CO2), then if this were really a thing, we should just reshore all manufacturing and then the third worlders wouldn’t have to deal with Gorebull Worming in the first place.

These wealth transfer payments are bribes to promote third world population control.

They don't want them competing with the West for their own resources.

It interferes with the exploitation game.

There is a bill right now proposing to tax people $27 for ‘climate change’ ‘carbon usage’ per 4 tons of CO2 or something like that- The article states plainly that this is ‘just the beginning’ and that the taxes will go up each year-

With 300 million people in the US that amounts to about $8,100,000,000 is the tax will apply to everyone (parents paying the tax for their children as well)

and that’s just the beginning- look for the tax to spike dramatically once it’s finally implemented nationwide and people are powerless to stop it- once the gov gets it’s hooks in with this tax, they WILL exploit it tremendously, and before you know it each person will be paying hundreds, if not 1000’s per year- They are starting off with the number of $27 so that people will be like “Meh- it’s not that bad a price, after all, we need to save the erff” - and then once implemented, they got ya- and WILL raise prices dramatically in the name of ‘saving the world’

Bet those third world countries already have their own methods for population control- starvation and mass murder.

The money will just disappear into the swiss accounts of all the third world thieves. Just like all the aid money. In the mean time China will continue to build coal plants. Nothing will change.

That’s pretty much what I was going to say.

Who actually believes any of that money will go toward its intended purpose which is really just a scam anyway? It’s just wealth transfer to fund the bad actors around the world so they do what the left wants them to.

And we will be the fools. But at least the leftists will be able to pat themselves on the back and know that they did something to save the earth.

Yep. My solution, too. As it was Hillary who proposed it, why doesn’t the Clinton Family Foundation fund it??
