I live in Rome, NY, and the electronic machine was down. I was told to fill the ballot out, and insert it in the slot below where you would insert the ballot to be scanned by the machine.

This happened to me years ago on the Upper East Side. Suddenly, my name was no longer on the books. Meanwhile, the floor was littered with absentee ballots. It is half fraud, half incompetence. As usual, it was elderly people - overwhelmed and undertrained - who were manning the polls.

About eight years ago we had the touch screen. I used the check feature and my vote had been flipped to democrat candidate for Governor. I did the entire thing over and it said republican, then I submitted it. Reports of that in 2016. I think they are Diabold. Have no clue if I voted republican. We have the paper ballot with pen and then put in the machine now.
