The idea that fascism is a right wing ideology is a lie made up by leftists in order to put blame of mass murder and human rights atrocities on people of right wing or "limited government" ideology so leftist aren't always to blame. FASCISM IS AN EVIL FORM OF LEFT WING TOTALITARIANISM. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RIGHT WING LIMITED GOVERNMENT IDEOLOGIES. Lastly I believe the whole left right scale is inaccurate. it should be a vertical scale, zero government at the bottom to total government at the top. Our Constitution is about as close to the bottom as can be and still have a form of governance that protects individual liberty. Fascism would be very near the top close to total government.
Conservatives believe in limited government which by the original intent of the sliding left right scale would be far to the right. All the way to the right is zero government. Most conservatives believe in limited or minimal government.
Any form of totalitarianism is on the far left, be it Fascism, Communism or whatever. Fascism is the polar opposite of far right wing.
