I wish people would stop comparing Brett to Roy Moore.

Roy Moore DID, by his own admission, do some of the things they were saying he did. He was a 30-year-old who was asking out 16-year-olds. He said he got the permission of the mother in some cases. He admitted knowing the girls, and said only that “nothing inappropriate happened”

THis wasn’t a crime, but it also wasn’t a made-up fiction. As he said to the question of whether he dated teenagers when he was in his 30s “Not Generally, No”, and “That would not have been my customary behavior”.

This is not what is happening here with Brett Kavanaugh. To compare the two does BK a disservice.

Fair point, but they likely had a ‘sister school’ - so go after that one.

Back in my fraternity days, I asked a girl to dance with me. She said no.

So I picked up the bar stool she was sitting on, with her still sitting on it. I carried the stool and her ten feet out onto the dance floor and danced around her for half a song.

I hereby apologize to her and to anyone and everyone who may have been offended by my brash actions. Furthermore, I will no longer consider running for any political office due to my insensitive behavior.

A sizeable portion of Congress critters are in dire need of medical and psychological evaluation. When some are so old that they are having trouble even being ambulatory under their own steam, it’s time for them to go. I’m bordering on codger territory myself, but I’m astute enough to know my limitations. When they dodder in and have to consult their handlers (who usually sit directly behind them during hearings) on every little thing and have to read prepared talking points without any spontaneous input, this indicates their shelf life is expired.

Reminds me of the Romney bullying story. Was it from Begalla claiming to have sources during the campaign but refused to say if the sources were real after the election.

Or Reid swearing he had sources of Romney’s tax returns during the campaign, but when asked if they were real after the election only replied “we won, didn’t we”.

And what happened to Herman Cain’s accusers after he dropped out? Or Trump’s accusers after the election. Pretty serious claims until they get their goal (or in Trump’s case until the claims are of no more use), and then they just hope we’ll forget about it. Dems will say whatever it takes to “win”.

Another article says that they went to a nearby school to find her (well, they ‘claim’ she came forward on her own).

Standard playbook.

Roy Moore didn’t get defense from establishment Republicans who would, it seems, prefer that real conservatives don’t get elected. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Roy Moore dating a girl that age with the parent’s permission.
It’s a subjective value. I will equate it because next some “conservative” will come out and say that was an icky thing to do in HS and people will accept validity of “this particular complaint”. The flood gates were opened as far as can be when Republicans wouldn’t defend the choice of Primary Republican voters in AL.

That was tough in Kavanaugh’s case, because his prep school was all male.

Nope, they just went to the sister school - it’s in one of the articles. They were not about to let that detail get in their way.

I just hope that Grassley tells DiChi to stuff it. She has held it for months, and if she wanted to waste committee time discussing it, she should have brought it forward in July. Since she didn’t, and since the FBI says there is no reason to investigate, the committee won’t even consider it or waste further time on it. Then hold the vote.

The effort is to delay.

Repbublicans need to refuse any effort to bring further witnesses to testify. It’s too late, DiChi sat on it.

Yes our GOP IS the stupid party. Forever since Trump elected, who in the GOP has had his back? Good old Paul Ryano and no chin Mitch are so totally disgusting. Just like McSwine (may he RIP) who told Lois Baby Lerner to go after Tea Party Peeps and smash em.

There are tons of Swamp scum that also hate us that call themselves GOP.

Always admire Clarence Thomas. So glad he’s speaking out more these days. He’s terrific. What they did to him WAS a high tech lynching by “uppity blacks”.

They need to hold the committee vote on Thursday and 100% ignore this sideshow. Or better yet, move it up.

“1. Go to Yearbook.com and find ALL women who went to high school with the nominee.”

He went to an all-male prep school. They partied with the students of their counterpart all-female prep school.

In addition, 65 females from that school just signed a letter stating that Kavanaugh is a stand-out dude. (Ironically, the Left is trying to use the gender-segregated school issue to dismiss the 65 female support, but I digress.)

Of course the Dems were going to try this hail mary attempt to kneecap Kavanagh. It’s worked before (see Roy Moore), and they’ve seen Republicans jump on the slander. Anyone in the GOP who thought that they would get respect from the Dems for tossing Moore aside, was delusional. The Dems smell fear and weakness, and all the Moore episode did was give them belief that they could do it again. This time - I hope - the suggestion of misconduct hurled decades later by a jilted high school acquaintance, will be so preposterous that it will be tossed aside even by the likes of McConnell.

The democrats have just succeeded in ensuring that Kavenaugh will NEVER take a left turn like Souter or Kennedy. Kavenaugh will forever remember how the democrats tried to smear him and destroy his reputation. And since this is all over Roe v Wade you can rest assured that he will vote to overturn it on his first opportunity just to stick it to those who tried to destroy him.
