We’ll see how much he gets.

I don’t trust McConnell or Ryan any farther than I can drop kick them.

If they are going to shut down, shut down....AFTER Kavanaugh is confirmed.

I’m sick of playing politics. What part of “BUILD THE WALL” is President Trump not understanding? When people say that at his rallies they don’t mean “Build seven miles of wall every year for the next 100 years!” or “Pretend you’re doing something until Congress can go Democrat and defund - or disassemble - it.”

If the rearholes are going to refuse to confirm Kavanaugh because of it - so be it.

“Trump getting Congress to approve the Wall built, and every FReeper comment so far a complaint. Wow”

Actually, the story indicates that two members of Congress have agreed to bring it up and, presumably, push for passage. (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)

Even if Ryan and McConnell are being sincere about border security legislation (which does not seem to have been a burning issue with either of these two Chamber of Corruption donees in the past), there is no guarantee that $1.6, $3.2, or $5 billion will be funded for wall construction by both Houses of Congress.

Congress doesn't have anything to do with building the wall. The wall is for National Security, which Homeland and Dept. of Defense falls under. Their funds fall under the President for national security reasons.

Mexico is going to pay for the wall through NAFTA and they won't even know it.

You did. I saw him say that on Fox News a couple weeks back.

I think it was a TOWNHALL article, but I read something that suggested the POTUS doesn’t need Congress to build this wall. He is defending the border so can just simply use Homeland Security or military funds to build it

The procedure for financing public works is to sell bonds. You and others would buy such bonds.

There is a fantastic pool f tens of billions of $$ of the repatriated corporate money.

That money must be invested. Wall bonds are a great and safe place to invest it.

I would order the SeaBees and Army Corps of Engineers on full alert Monday morning. The civilian contractors can catch up. If they can.

Charge mexican money transfers, “”

Trump put a 5% fee on those transfers right after inauguration, but I think he should add a ZERO-—make it 50% & see how fast the wall gets funded.

YES, I MEAN 50 %.

We have a military.

It exists to protect the country.

It needs to build the wall.

“. . . officials are pointing to the pledge to push for more border wall funding after the election.”

We all know how those “pledges” work. The Reagan amnesty comes to mind. Then there’s that qualifier “push” instead of “enact”.

Wait wasn’t Mexico supposed to pay for it?

**********

Only if sending pesos south of the border for illegal workers comes to a halt.
Then some unemployed could have jobs if they’ll work. But then gov’t subs
need to be looked at if jobs are truly available.

In many ways Mexico is paying...the new trade deal is in our favor by enough to pay for several walls...

Having Mexico pay was always the easy part...people and countries pay every day for things they don’t want to.

Border crossing permits can be raised from $6 to $10 and raise more than enough. I read the other day there is a proposal to raise the cost of permits to more than $10 so the money will pour in even faster.

As my dad said some people would bi$ch if you hung them with a new rope.

All this that Trump is getting done, none of it is easy. On top of the usual bureaucracy and D.C. fun and games and the trickiness of trade, finance, juggling things to get others done...he has also been fought hard every step of the way by Dims and RINOs.

I will give him credit for each thing he gets done, and I know he is working hard to get his promises done. Every step is a big one in this mess.

I just wish it was all as easy as some people seem to think. They must have no idea of the roadblocks that have been put in place for the last 50 years to keep anyone from undoing their progress toward Socialism.
