Here’s the thing.

If conservatives feel/sense that there is NO WAY a Democrat could win, they may not vote.

Conversely, If they feel/sense that their GOP candidate has absolutely no chance of winning? They may only vote to express a protest.

Voting, just so you can say you voted for the winner doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

There’s a bit of an underdog mindset that, IMHO, drives people to the polls.

Unfortunately, the biggest driver in midterm elections is anti-incumbent president protest voters.

Democrats will have a far easier time energizing their impeach-Trump base than the GOP will have energizing their keep-Trump base.

If the Republicans lose seats in the House it will be because of this, and nobody’s fault - not some “lost opportunity” - it’s just the way it is.

If the Republicans can hold onto the House, it will be a major victory - a real accomplishment.
