Kavanaugh, and many others (Duke Lacross; Clarence Thomas, for example) are clearly bogus allegations. That vague and subjective ‘sexual impropriety’ is far too often being used as a weapon to take someone down instead of a legitimate offense.
We need a firm statute of limitations on such unprovable allegations.
If she didn’t complain to the police or other authority within a few days of it happening, preferably a few hours, then it will be assumed to not have happened.

The first reports said the letter was sent by a third party, someone "affiliated with Stanford University," who claimed "to have knowledge" of the alleged incident. This needs to be pinned down.

What does this mean? Tried to kiss her? Tried to strip her? Tried to fondle her? What? Tried to hug her? What exactly did he try to do? Was he a teenager who got mixed signals and tried to simply kiss her not realizing she wasn’t at all itnerested in him? Did she flirt with him at the party and make him think she was itnerested? If she supposedly needed therapy, then it must have been very serious such as him trying to unclothe her, fondle her or some such issue- All she is saying is that he ‘tried to force himself on her’- what? Did he throw a leg over hers while he was trying to kiss her?
This is a serious allegation that has the potential of ruining a man’s reputation for good- but the accusation is very vague-

Were we to apply the same scrutiny to most of Congress and half of the unelected class, I doubt many of them would survive the experience.
