IMO, the only way diversity exists with violence along ethnic lines is when there is a government that crushes dissent.
Case in point, the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. Remove the government’s over-watch and all hell breaks loose.
Tribal/nationalistic behavior is the tendency of man. Always has been always will be.
Austria-Hungarian empire. It’s diversity was a constant pain in the ass, having to put out fires here and there, when certain groups got insulted.

The very assertion is absurd. How could it possibly be true? Strength in unity makes sense. It implies a cumulative effect, an aggregation of individuals into a cohesive entity.
Diversity, by contrast, is variety, differences, a subtraction of strengths until one reaches a lowest common denominator. Strength in diversity contradicts common sense as well as observation.
Yugoslavia was a most diverse nation prior to WWI consisting of Croats, Serbs and Muslims of Kosovo. This “wonderful diversity” is what sowed the seeds of WWI. This was a most horrible war with millions lost in battle and more millions of civilians killed.
When the war was over the French and English imposed draconian retribution on Germany and thus seeded the rise of Hitler and another great war.
The United States is a country of many diverse people with a common culture and as such we are a grand nation. The people of Europe came here not to be British, Irish, Italian, German etc. They came here to be Americans. Odd is it not that these same people took up arms against their nations of origin to defend our grand nation.
If a nation does not have a common culture it is not a nation but a Balkanization as Yugoslavia that is doomed to failure and war and great death.
Is Our diversity our greatest a strength?
I grew up in an era that promoted the melting pot. To me the melting pot represented the potential unity that assimilation brought about.
I don’t know the time or event that caused the government to decide to stir the melting pot. That is when diversity began to lose any chance of strengthening the country by unifying the country.

This was the general who claimed that the massacre was horrible, but it would be even more horrible if the army were to lose its diversity.
So the picture of the general comforting the woman had a caption: “Don’t worry ma’am, they died for diversity. “

When America was less “diverse” American made their greatest strides...Winning two world wars, going into space and beating World Communism this country was populated by over 80 percent European stock.
Now our country cannot gather together and watch a simple football game without falling apart into sects.
Diversity will be the death of America.
Like most cult-like beliefs, multiculturalism relies on the willingness of people to say that 2+2=5 if Big Brother (i.e. big media, big government) say so.
