The Top Three Ways Obama’s Mini-Me Jared Polis Wants to Fundamentally Transform Colorado
Townhall ^ | Sep 11, 2018 | Joy Overbeck

Democrat Congressman Jared Polis is running for Colorado governor on a platform largely constructed from the splintered and moldering remains of Barack Obama’s failed ideas. His opponent is two-term Colorado Treasurer and solid conservative Republican, Walker Stapleton.

Polis would re-impose Obama-esque state government-controlled healthcare that has pounded family budgets with hundreds of dollars in monthly premiums for insurance they can’t even use because deductibles are so high. In Congress, Polis has introduced repeal of the Trump tax cuts that would steal thousands of dollars Colorado families are saving because of the new law, and cost the Colorado state budget hundreds of millions as well. Like Obama and Clinton, Polis would start banning oil, gas, and coal, destroying an industry that contributes over $30 billion to Colorado’s economy and over 200,000 well-paid jobs.

If the Colorado legislature didn’t go along with Polis’ radical plans, the new governor could use the lessons learned by looking over Obama’s shoulder as he used his pen and his phone to grab unconstitutional power to work his lawless will on the nation. Polis knows even if his edicts landed in the courts, as have Obama’s, it would be years before his illegal actions were reversed. By that time, he would have fundamentally transformed an exuberant, vibrant, Colorado that doesn’t need transforming into an over-taxed, over-regulated, energy-drained California East.

Polis wants to force ObamaCare-style government healthcare on Colorado.

...

Polis knew the disaster of one-size-fits-all government-dictated healthcare would drive American companies to send employees to foreign countries for surgeries that would become too costly here under the new rules. So he took steps to profit from our pain .. into a “medical tourism” company, BridgeHealth International that facilitates medical travel overseas for less-expensive procedures.

I think there’s a chance Stapleton will win against ultra-leftist Polis.

Colorado was a never-Trumper state at the Republican Caucus, and Hellary only won by 4.8% at 48% of the vote. Goofy Johnson took 5.1%. Those never-Trumpers should come home voting for Stapleton. Trump has marked Colorado as a state he can take in 2020, which he can do.

A few days ago, Tom Tancredo was on a local state radio show saying he saw 2 internal polls stating the race was within the margin of error. The talk show host Michael Brown was pleasantly surprised by the polling result differences expecting far worse. This race is close and can be won by Stapleton.

I surely hope you are right. I live in Colorado and am sickened to think of Polis as our governor. The only good thing is we have the TABOR (tax payer’s bill of rights) which is very limiting to expanded government. You can’t raise taxes of any kind without a vote of the people and any excesses in the budget have to be returned to the taxpayer. Maybe, just maybe, TABOR will keep Polis in check.

Stapleton is within 5% of Polis in a poll the other day with 11% undecided. It can be done, but it's going to come down to the Colorado unaffiliated voter as usual.

There's also a good chance that the CO Repubs keep the state Senate.

And the kiddies so far don't seem to be voting this year. A tidbit snippet for you.

"HIPSTER HOLDOUTS: Guess Who’s Not Voting in Droves?

Posted on November 1, 2018

...

Despite mainstream media reports that millennials are voting in droves this year, that’s not what’s happening in Colorado — hipster central.

KDVR reports that only 43,000 out of 951,000 returned ballots are from voters between the ages of 18 to 25.

After all the time and money invested by the Democratic Party on campus political theater, rallies and protests, this must be a huge disappointment for them. ... "
